After the success of a first edition which kept all its promises, the Casablanca-Settat Interactive Tourism Forum returns for a 2nd edition on Wednesday July 5, 2023 in Casablanca. Organized by the Casablanca-Settat Regional Tourism Council, in partnership with the Local Development Company Casablanca Events & Animation, this edition will have the theme “What tourist roadmap for Casablanca-Settat cap 2026 and cap 2030?”. The objective of the Interactive Tourism Forum will be, during this 2nd edition, to exchange and debate around the vision, the projects adopted and the means implemented by the National Tourism Roadmap 2027, the Development Plan regional 2022-2026 and the municipal action plan 2023-2028. It will also be a question of highlighting the best opportunities for job creation and attractiveness of tourist investments. A focus on the rural world will also be made to highlight both the potential, the brakes and the levers to be activated to promote sustainable rural tourism in the Casablanca-Settat region. “The region has many assets and a rich and diversified tourist offer. It is in pole position for MICE, medical and shopping tourism and has 6 golf courses, more than 28,000 beds and the largest airport in Morocco considered as a true continental hub”, declares Mr. Othmane Cherif Alami, President of the Regional Council of Tourism of Casablanca-Settat. “Within the Regional Tourism Council, we work in coordination with all the stakeholders, to promote and sell this destination to international influencers. The region has many assets allowing it to better position itself in the wake of this salutary dynamic of the sector, and this Forum is an opportunity to discuss these questions and the means capable of making the Casablanca-Settat region shine more at the level nationally and internationally”, continues Mr. Othmane Cherif Alami. For his part, Mr. Mohamed Jouahri, Managing Director of Casablanca Events & Animation, welcomed this initiative which is fully in line with the DNA of the Local Development Company. “We reiterate our support for this important forum for the development of tourism in the Casablanca-Settat region and which will undoubtedly make it possible to issue essential recommendations for the promotion of the Casablanca destination”, declared Mr. Mohamed Jouahri, Managing Director of Casablanca Events & Animation. The Interactive Tourism Forum aims to be an event with a scientific scope which constitutes a platform for strategic reflection on the place of the tourism sector in the regional economy. It pools the synergies of elected officials, authorities, scientists and all tourism professionals with the aim of promoting sustainable and inclusive tourism. The Casablanca Interactive Forum will also be preceded by a series of preparatory workshops in order to provide the relevant material needed for the forum’s discussion panels. Through this major event for the region’s tourism ecosystem, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Tourism Council intends to pool all the energies of all stakeholders in order to make tourism a catalyst for the socio-economic development of the region.
