In a statement to the press, the coordinator of the “A sea without plastic” operation within the Mohammed VI Foundation for the protection of the environment, Sami Laklil, indicated that this campaign aims to raise awareness among children of the importance of preserving the cleanliness of the sea and the coast through multiple actions and initiatives. The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, has since the beginning of the year multiplied awareness-raising activities aimed especially at young people, thanks to the contribution of the Hassan II International Center for Environmental Training. In this context, it organized an awareness campaign for children enrolled in eco-school programs and young journalists for the environment, on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5), World Oceans Day (June 8) and the Rabat International Book and Publishing Fair. The Foundation also organized at the beginning of last June, three international conferences dealing with different themes related to plastic pollution, a major scourge that is getting worse from year to year.
