Marrakesh To South Morocco Desert Tour - 6 Days

ITINERARY OUTLINE

DAY 1

Arrival to Marrakech

Upon arrival to Marrakech our Driver / Tour guide will pick you up at the airport and you will be transferred to the hotel/Riad .

DAY 2

Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades

Our Marrakech Desert Tour will start from Marrakech around 8:00 am crossing the stunning High Atlas mountains through Tizi n’Tichka (alt 2260 m). We will stop to enjoy the stunning landscapes and visit the Argan oil cooperative. After lunch at a local restaurant we will have the afternoon to visit UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou. Later on we will depart for Ouarzazate. Overnight in a hotel.

DAY 3

Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Jorf - Erfoud - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)

We will start around 8:00 Am after you enjoy your breakfast at the hotel by driving through the valley to see the amazing rock formation , and the Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley you will see the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorges you will have a walk under the 300 Miters high red cliff, where many rock climbers come to enjoy their favorite sport. Continuing our journey to Erfoud where you will have lunch and afterwards we will leave for Merzouga . At the arrival to Merzouga you will be welcomed with a cup of mint tea before you check into your hotel.

DAY 4

Merzouga - Off road - Nomad Families - Old Berber Villages - Merzouga

We will start around 8:00 Am after your enjoy your breakfast with a drive to explore the villages around the Erg Chebbi dunes such as ( Hassi Labied, Khamlia ...) on our way to Khamlia we might meet locals showing their desert foxes. you may also encounter desert reptiles and mammals. Khamlia is known as the village of black people who were slaves coming from Sudan. At the arrival you will be welcomed with a cup of tea while enjoying the spiritual Gnawa music. Leaving Khamlia towards our next stop which will be the panoramic view of the golden dunes near the Algerian border, we will stop for Lunch under the shadows of a tree before continuing to visit The Nomad family , you will be introduced to the family members and getting to know about their way of life while enjoying the taste of a nice cup of tea. Later on you will have the chance to visit the sites of black volcanic rocks. continuing on, we will reach the Yasmina lake then we will be back to Merzouga, overnight in hotel near the dunes.

DAY 5

Merzouga - Nomads - Safsaf Desert Oasis - Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes - Merzouga

We will start around 08:00 Am crossing the black desert to Saf-Saf Oasis and we will stop to enjoy the scenery and visit a nomadic Berber family with whom we will share a traditional mint tea beneath the comforting shade of a Berber tent. We will continue until we arrive at our destination, the Saf-Saf Oasis. It is a an amazing place. palm trees and lakes between where you can swim. In this heavenly environment we will have lunch. Before sunset, we will leave Saf-Saf to the Oasis of Tisserdmin . We will continue to the sand dunes to watch the sunset before getting back to Merzouga, overnight in hotel near dunes.

DAY 6

Merzouga - Er rissani - Alnif - Nkob - Agdz - Ouarzazate

In the morning after taking a refreshing shower and enjoying your breakfast in the Hotel, we will start the journey towards Ouarzazate through the Berber villages of the Atlas mountains and we will arrive to Ouarzazate in the evening. Over night in Ouarzazate

DAY 7

Ouarzazate - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

We will start around 8:00 Am by visiting the studios and crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco Tizni Tichka 2260 m offering stunning views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages nearby and we will arrive to Marrakesh in the evening.
