More than 335 million DH for the promotion of tourism in the North

The region is destined to benefit from a series of projects, within the framework of four partnership agreements linking several departments and institutions as well as the elected councils concerned. The North wants, through the mobilization of all stakeholders, to improve its position among the most popular destinations for national and international visitors. In this sense, the region is destined to benefit from a series of projects, within the framework of four partnership agreements linking several departments and institutions as well as the elected councils concerned. Approved during the last ordinary session of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (CR-TTA), these draft agreements, for which more than 335 million dirhams will be mobilized, aim to inject new momentum into the tourism sector on the regional territory. Among these four partnerships, mention should be made of the one relating to the development of a program for the development and promotion of the sector in the region. With a total amount of 3 million dirhams, this program will be carried out using a participatory approach in order to contribute to local and regional development. This first draft convention will make it possible to define the responsibility and the commitment of all the partners, in this case the department of tourism, the CR-TTA, the wilaya of the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and the Regional Council of tourism (CRT-TTA). The main objective of this partnership is to mobilize the efforts of the signatory parties to ensure all stages of this project. The tourism department is committed to providing support and technical assistance for the development of this new program. Given its important role in promoting the destination to national and international tourists, the CRT-TTA will be of great help in coordination with all the partners in the realization of this project, while relying on the expertise and the experience of tourism players in the North. In addition to its contribution to the financing of this project, the region undertakes, for its part, to seek other partnerships to enable the sector to benefit from national and international experience in this field. It should be noted that the second convention is at the origin of a project to create a regional development company to promote tourism SMEs and VSEs. With a capital of some 4 million dirhams, this new company is intended to attract more investment in the sector on the regional territory. The objective is to create more than 600 SMEs and VSEs in tourism with the key to some 2,000 direct jobs. The third agreement concerns the activation of a support mechanism for entrepreneurship in the tourism sector in the region. With a budget of 300 million dirhams, it aims to support tourism businesses through the granting of investment subsidies of 10 to 50% of the amount of the project. It also involves setting up technical support and support mechanisms for beneficiary companies. The fourth agreement concerns the creation of new tourist circuits in the region, for a budget of nearly 30 million dirhams. This partnership is thus at the origin of the identification of six circuits, in particular “The waterfalls and the Moroccan flavors of the Mediterranean” in Chefchaouen, “The Blue Park” in Al Hoceima, “The Adventures of the valleys” in Tetouan and M ‘diq-Fnideq, “The Land of Archaeological Sites” in Larache, “The Flavors and Arts of Jbala” in Ouezzane, and “The Adventures of Hercules” in Tangier-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra.
