The Minister also launched several development projects and the field visit of other projects in the province of Berkane. Study day on precision and intelligent agriculture The study day is part of the innovation and digital development approach experienced by the agricultural sector as part of the Generation Green strategy. This event was marked by the participation of the various stakeholders, including professionals and researchers. In his opening remarks, the Minister indicated that digital transformation is one of the pillars of the “Generation Green 2020-2030” strategy, which plans to connect no less than 2 million farmers to digital service platforms . He also underlined that the digital transformation will allow the development of the agricultural sector in terms of working and production methods (remote control systems and rationalization of the use of inputs). Launch of several development projects and visit other projects in the province of Berkane. At the level of the territorial commune of Madagh, province of Berkane, the Minister took note of the rehabilitation program of the large hydraulic perimeter, and launched the rehabilitation works of the gravity irrigation network of the irrigated perimeter of Moulouya. This project aims to rehabilitate the dilapidated areas of the gravity-fed irrigation system of the irrigated perimeters at a distance of 11.3 kilometers, at a cost of 21.2 million dirhams. The Minister also launched the maintenance program for the irrigation and water drainage network at the level of the irrigation perimeters of Triffa, Zaio, Bouareg, Garet and Tafarta, with a financial envelope of 28 million dirhams allocated. for the year 2021. At the level of the territorial commune Laatamna, the Minister took note of the progress of the development program and the coating of the rural track of Chnen, the development will relate to 10 km of rural tracks for a total investment of 4 million dirhams. The Minister also took note of the program for the development and coating of rural roads in the area of ​​action of the regional office for agricultural development of Moulouya for the period between 2019 and 2021, the work of which has been completed. over a length of 128 km for an overall cost estimated at 48 million dirhams. This program is part of the strengthening of infrastructure in rural perimeters and the opening up of several production sites in the municipalities of the province of Berkane, namely Chouihiya, Boughriba, Fezouane, Aghbal, Zegzel, Madagh and Laatamna. The Minister also took note of the program for the development and coating of rural roads in the area of ​​action of the regional office for agricultural development of Moulouya for the period 2022, which provides for the development and coating. 106 km of rural roads in the provinces of Berkane, Nador and Taourirt, for a total investment of 102 million dirhams. As a reminder, the irrigated perimeter of Moulouya is one of the most important irrigated perimeters of the Kingdom, where the areas of large hydraulic and small and medium hydraulic, amount respectively to 66,728 hectares and 10,700 hectares. The Moulouya irrigated perimeter also has very important hydro-agricultural equipment and includes 16 water pumping stations and a very large irrigation water distribution network of 1,689 km, in addition to 288 km of canals. main roads, and a 1,115 km rural road network.
