Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy arrives in Beni-Mellal for the presentation of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap and meets Khatib El Hebil, Wali of the Beni region -Mellal Khénifra, Adil Barakat, President of the Council of the Region, Younes Laraqui, President of the Regional Council of Tourism of the region, as well as the representatives of the professionals, the elected representatives of the region, the representatives of the territorial collectivities and the provinces and the professional chambers. The Minister first presented the main contours of the roadmap while focusing on the tourism sectors and levers specific to the Beni-Mellal Khénifra region. She also announced the important role that the region will play in sectors related to nature tourism, whether it is the “Nature, Trekking and Hiking” sector for international tourists or the “Nature & Discovery” sector for domestic tourism. Fatim-Zahra Ammor emphasizes: “We rely heavily on the Béni Mellal Khénifra region to create unique experiences around nature and discovery. The natural potential of this region is exceptional. Our work will consist of developing an ecosystem that includes accommodation, entertainment and services able to enhance this potential. The meeting raised the importance of developing the region’s accommodation capacity, upgrading current capacity and creating innovative new accommodation. In this sense, the Minister raised awareness of the importance of attracting private investment in animation and services in addition to accommodation. She also insisted on the transversality of the tourism sector and in this sense invited all the actors to mobilize for the achievement of the quantitative and qualitative objectives projected for the region. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Msellek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) and Adel El Fakir, Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).
