ONMT: Air transport in pole position among priorities for this school year

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has formed a partnership with the airline EasyJet, with the aim of injecting nearly 95,000 seats to Morocco for the 2023-2024 winter season alone. As part of the continuity of the deployment of the ONMT action plan “Light in action” which aims in particular at the multiplication of actions to strengthen air service for Morocco, this record agreement provides in particular for the launch of several lines direct links connecting several European cities to three main Moroccan destinations: Rabat, Marrakech and Agadir, indicates the Office in a press release. “This record agreement with one of the largest airlines in Europe strengthens us in the deployment of our strategy aimed at the rise of our destination in the world”, affirms the general director of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, noting that other agreements are also in progress with other companies”. Rabat will thus be connected to 5 European cities: Paris, with 4 weekly frequencies, i.e. 15,345 seats, Geneva, with 2 frequencies per week, i.e. 8,593 seats, Lyon, at the rate of 3 frequencies, or 10,679 seats and Nantes and Nice at the rate of 2 weekly frequencies, or 7,550 seats each, reports MAP. Marrakech will, for its part, be connected to Bristol at the rate of two weekly frequencies , i.e. 8,712 seats and in Porto, i.e. 3 frequencies per week and 12,078 seats. Agadir, will benefit from a new Agadir-Porto line with 2 weekly frequencies, i.e. 7,920 seats and will take over the Paris-Agadir line with two frequencies per week with an offer of 7,326 seats. In total, 94,346 additional seats will be injected only for the winter season, distributed between Rabat (58,310), Marrakech (20,790) and Agadir (15,246), the press release said. EasyJet, the second largest company in Europe in terms of passengers carried, is a historic partner of the Moroccan National Tourism Office. With nearly one million seats operated annually in Morocco, Easyjet is today the 5th airline in terms of international capacity to the Kingdom. Through this strategic agreement, the company confirms its commitment to the Morocco destination and the ONMT reinforces its “Light in Action” strategy.
