Presented by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, this text is part of the continuation of the work on the regulatory reform of the travel agent profession, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing after the Council. This reform aims to support the evolution of travel booking habits, the emergence of new players, such as digital agencies and the increased use of new information and communication technologies. This draft decree determines the procedures and terms for granting and operating a travel agent license, and relates in particular to the overhaul, simplification and digitization of the procedure for granting this license. Regarding the harmonization of the provisions of the draft decree with the advanced regionalization project, Mr. Baitas explained that this will take place through the transfer of powers from the central administration in terms of granting and withdrawing a travel agent license to the external services of the Ministry of Tourism, noting that these services will be the main player in managing all the procedures relating to this license.
