This new flight will be operated four times a week, offering travelers greater flexibility and optimal connectivity between the two cities, the same source said. On this occasion, the Marrakech-Safi CRT, in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the National Airports Office (ONDA), organized, on Friday at the Marrakech-Menara international airport, a ceremony reception for the benefit of passengers on the inaugural flight of this air service, thus marking a new stage for the Marrakech destination, through this direct route to high-potential markets such as: the Gulf countries, China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. The airline “Qatar Airways” is thus committed to offering an unparalleled travel experience to its passengers on board modern Boeing 787-8 aircraft, with a capacity of 232 seats, including 22 business class seats, noted the same source. It should be recalled that during the first 5 months of 2023, Marrakech recorded more than 3,689,415 tourist overnight stays, with an increase of 12%, and an occupancy rate of 68% in classified hotel units (5 points more than 2022), while Marrakech Menara International Airport welcomed some 2,686,278 passengers during the same period, achieving a 65% increase compared to 2022.
