Tourism: The ONMT sales force takes note of the needs of the CNT

The task force of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) held a meeting in Casablanca on Friday with representatives of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT) and regional tourism councils. In the wake of an important meeting with the President of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and his teams, delegates from the Office's worldwide network traveled to Morocco especially for the occasion and to take note of the needs of professionals. of Moroccan tourism in order to integrate their recommendations into their respective roadmaps for each strategic market, indicates the ONMT in a press release. This summit meeting between the major players in the Moroccan tourism sector comes after the signing of the partnership agreement with the CNT, last April and which seals the synergy of actions in terms of promotion, specifies the same source. It is therefore a question today of continuing on this dynamic of public-private cooperation in order to set up together the milestones of the revival in terms of promotion and marketing of the tourist destination Morocco. The director general of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, quoted in the press release, indicated: “We are constantly working to work in perfect synergy with the private operators in the sector and this is already bearing fruit”. “Now our objective is to make the recovery continue so as to very quickly find the indicators of 2019 and perhaps even exceed them”, he added. The exchanges of this meeting thus made it possible to collect the expectations of the professionals and their feedback, to share the insights on the strategic tourist markets in these first months of recovery, and to draw up together a roadmap to strengthen the position of the Moroccan destination on nationally and internationally with the aim of boosting activity in the second half of 2022, the same source said. For Hamid Bentahar, president of the CNT: “This meeting is a new step in the new dynamics of the ONMT and the CNT driven by the signing of our partnership agreement. This pooling of skills allows the Morocco Team that we are forming to be more offensive in its actions”. This meeting notably saw the participation of Hamid Bentahar, president of the National Confederation of Tourism and Lahcen Zelmat, president of the National Federation of the Hotel Industry, as well as presidents and representatives of regional and provincial councils of tourism in particular Aziz Lebbar, president of the CRT of Fès-Meknes, Hassan Bargach, president of the CRT of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Younès El Laraqui, president of the CRT of Beni Mellal, Mohamed Takhchi, president of the CRT Drâa Tafilalet, Siham Rida, president of the CPT of Ouarzazate and Adil Terrab, president of the CPT of Meknes. Thus, the ONMT and the CNT are relentlessly pursuing their efforts to support the recovery, and create synergies between public and professional institutions in order to accelerate growth and promote the Moroccan tourist brand both internationally and nationally, concludes the communicated.
